Woolly Pocket Vest is worked from the top down in broken rib. Back shoulders are shaped with increases before stitches are picked up for the front shoulders. Each front is worked separately before being joined at the bottom of the V-neck. Double edge stitches are worked along the neckline and armholes – making any further finishing here optional.
Front and back are joined at the underarms and work continued in the round to desired length and finished with a ribbed hem. The two patch pockets are worked separately, sewn on and decorated with a button. Each shoulder is closed with buttons to simplify dressing and undressing.

Techniques used in this pattern
Cast on, knit, purl, increases both on right and wrong side, bind off, pick up stitches, Italian or regular bind off
Gauge
20 stitches x 28 rows in broken rib stitch on 4 mm (US6) needles = 10 x 10 cm (4” x 4”)
Suggested needles
3 mm / US2.5 and 3.5 mm / US4 circular needles in 60 cm [24”] cable length (and/or longer if you use magic loop for the body)
Yarn
MumiLumi Organic Merino 200 – hand-dyed, 100% organic, non-superwash, worsted-weight merino, 200 m [219 yds] per 100 g. This yarn comes in 100 g skeins, is buttery soft (20.5 micron) and perfect for baby knits. The blue sample is in size 0-3 months and knit in Organic Merino 200 in the Daphne colourway.
